Austria joined the IAAS network in 1961 and since then has been working to provide students with the opportunities to connect with Life Science students from all over the world.
Austria was in the past host to several international events such as the 10th World Congress "Austrian Agriculture" in 1966 and the 29th Congress jointly organized by IAAS Austria and IAAS Switzerland "The agriculture in two Alpine countries and their International Relations" in 1985.
Our current commitee was founded in 2015 by group of active and motivated students working in the Department for International Affairs at the ÖH BOKU. Since then IAAS Austria has been actively promoting student exchange in the fields of Agriculture and Related Sciences and has participated in and organized a various number of events on local and international level. Vision statement of IAAS Austria (as of March 2017)
IAAS Austria is an NGO driven by a community of Life Science students. We aim to provide a framework which fosters personal development of international and national students in Austria on cultural, academic and social levels by providing opportunities for hands – on experiences in the field of Life Sciences and global exchange.
Mission statement of IAAS Austria
We fulfill our vision by communicating internships, organizing high- quality seminars, field trips, trainings, assemblies and other events in Austria and by participating in such events worldwide. We aim to maintain an socially inclusive working environment ("familIAAS") to ensure the fulfillment of our vision.
